Fierro Consulting is offering 3 internship positions.  The first is a Social Media Intern to grow our followers. The second is an administrative assistant. The third is a prospect researcher. Each position requires at most 10 hours of work per week starting immediately and someone who can occasionally work virtually with minimum supervision. Interns will gain valuable experience in contributing to the duties of growing our reach, our organization, and our vision and get coached regularly to build their leadership capacity.

This may be for you if you are:

  • A student of a 2 or 4 year university or trade school
  • In a masters program or beginning a masters program
  • Creative self starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working independently
  • Skilled in basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Have prior experience
  • Excellent in writing/verbal communication skills
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with popular social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube)
  • Flexible hours are available--minimum 5 hours per week. Working remotely is an option.

Social Media Internship Description (not paid):

  • Assist in creating content for social media accounts that would promote conversation and interaction
  • Research articles, stories and resources or other content that would be relevant to the services we offer
  • Assist with other social media projects as assigned
  • Assist in contributing to marketing plan
  • Contribute to Monthly Content Calendar

Social Media Intern Training:

  • Social Media Intern will be working directly with social media manager on social media projects
  • Learn how social media manager creates Social Media Strategy
  • Learning to Develop a Social Media Strategy Plan
  • Discover the creative process behind the Facebook Live video
  • Learn how partnerships with other businesses increase social media reach
  • Create visuals-- (preferred) knowledge of graphic design


  • Gain experience for your resume of building social media channels and two brand names and grow your own effectiveness at building audiences. Gain experience building the social media presence of a socially-responsible business reaching out across systems and networks nationally and internationally. Excellent opportunity for business or marketing major, preparing to start their masters.


Administrative Assistant Intern (Virtual) (Paid 100 hours, $500 honorarium):

  • Assist in making data confidential – voice distortion and anonymous
  • organizing and scheduling appointments (through,
  • planning meetings and take detailed minutes,
  • writing and distributing email,
  • maintaining contact lists,
  • ordering office supplies and research new deals and suppliers,
  • booking travel arrangements,
  • developing and maintaining a filing system,
  • Preparation for meetings and trainings
  • Typing up notes

Administrative Assistant Internship Training:

  • Entering information on networking in computer systems
  • Using new apps and programs for program management
  • Learning us of different apps, programs, and software for conducting a small consulting and research firm
  • Learning how to make processes more efficient and effective
  • Creating measures for business effectiveness and monitoring daily
  • Filling up the work pipeline

Prospect Researcher Internship Descriptions (Paid 100 hours, $1000 honorarium):

  • Look for funding for new national coalition with a focus on youth
  • Prepare materials for grant-writing inquiries
  • Prospect Researcher Intern Training:
  • Learning the vast channels of funding applied to a small local business
  • Organizing opportunities in a calendar for timely response
  • Establishing systems for documents network-development


Working with an innovative project for social justice, networking with a breadth of national and local organizations in the areas of child welfare, juvenile justice, education and other areas that affect children's lives. Expand your learning of funders and current opportunities. Excellent opportunity for business, marketing, writing, development, or social services major, seeking masters level education.
